چکیده

Abstract Understanding the ontogenetic age and sex composition of zooarchaeological assemblages can reveal details about past human hunting herding strategies as well animal morphology behavior. As such, accuracy our estimates underlies ability to ascertain site formation gain insights into how people interacted with different animals in past. Unfortunately, typically rely on only a small number bones, limiting fruitfully use these make meaningful comparisons theoretical expectations or even between multiple assemblages. This paper describes method remains standard biometric measurements estimate assemblage, focused immature, adult-sized female, male specimens. The model uses Bayesian framework ensure that parameter are biologically meaningful. Simulated show accurately biometry Two archaeological case studies also be applied produce tangible insights. first, sheep from Neolithic Pinarbaşı B, highlights model’s elucidate function. second, cattle four 7th-6th millennium BCE northwestern Anatolia, showcases mixture modeling results compare one another specific hypotheses. provides new avenue for investigating long-term trajectories alongside contextual analyses choices butchery consumption.

Multilevel Mixture Factor Models.

Factor analysis is a statistical method for describing the associations among sets of observed variables in terms of a small number of underlying continuous latent variables. Various authors have proposed multilevel extensions of the factor model for the analysis of data sets with a hierarchical structure. These Multilevel Factor Models (MFMs) have in common that-as in multilevel regression ana...

abstract while task-based instruction is considered as the most effective way to learn a language in the related literature, it is oversimplified on various grounds. different variables may affect how students are engaged with not only the language but also with the task itself. the present study was conducted to investigate language and task related engagement on the basis of the task typolog...

Within-level Group Factorial Invariance with Multilevel Data: Multilevel Factor Mixture and Multilevel MIMIC Models

This study suggests two approaches to factorial invariance testing with multilevel data when the groups are at the within level: multilevel factor mixture model for known classes (ML FMM) and multilevel multiple indicators multiple causes model (ML MIMIC). The adequacy of the proposed approaches was investigated using Monte Carlo simulations. Additionally, the performance of different types of ...
